Sam S., Aug 17, 2008, 3:09PM EDTHi, I wasn't sure you will see my respond to you in my article http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977322664
So I copied it here:
First, I don't believe Jesus is God or God's son. I believe Jesus is a great and amazing messenger and prophet of God.
Second, I don't believe Jesus died for anyone's sins. Each person in this world is responsible for their own sins and actions. Are you telling me, if I kill someone you will be held responsible for my actions? No, of course not, so Jesus is not responsible for anyone's actions.
Third, I know my God as a Merciful God, who sent me into this world to obey and worship Him and Him alone. I know that as long as I pray my five prayers, fast on the holy month, give to charity, go on a Holy pilgrimage and worship God alone, I have fulfilled the pillars of my religion. I know that as long as I believe in Allah, the Angels, the messengers, the Books, the Last Day, and the Divine Destiny and that the good and bad of it, then I have fulfilled my pillars of faith (iman).
I know that as long as I am following God's words in the Holy Quran and as long as I follow the ways of the last Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him), I am fulfilling my duty as Muslim. I know that with all this, I still have a long way to go and I should strive even harder. I appreciate you making me aware of how hard I should work to please my Lord. Nothing comes easily in this world, just like you have to work hard to get into a good college, or succeed at a job interview, I have to work hard to please God Almighty. However, I have the personal satisfaction of knowing that I have found the correct way of life and I am on the straight and righteous path. I don't need anyone to sacrifice their blood for me, I will clear my own sins by worshiping the Almighty God, the Creator of mankind.
Thank you for your comment.
